In Nova Scotia, everyone has a right to request and receive information from provincial and municipal public bodies, subject to limited exceptions to protect overriding interests, such as privacy and trade secrets. Nova Scotia’s Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner offers an appeal for those who believe their requests for information have been wrongly denied or not processed properly.
If you general information on how to do this, feel free to reach out to the Centre for Law and Democracy at info@law-democracy.org or (902) 431-3686. We thank the Law Foundation of Nova Scotia, which is providing us with a grant to enable us to provide this support.
Please note that the Centre for Law and Democracy is unable to offer legal advice or representation. Any information we provide via this facility should not be construed as legal advice. The Centre for Law and Democracy also is unable to provide financial assistance to requesters.
