The Centre for Law and Democracy has signed onto a joint letter urging the withdrawal of the Maldives Media and Broadcasting Regulation Bill. The letter states that the bill “poses a grave threat to press freedom and media independence in the Maldives and should be withdrawn immediately in the interests of democracy and the public’s right to know”.
